Junior Electrical/Electro-Optical Engineer

Job Description (full-time)

As an electrical engineer at Qunnect, you will work to design the hardware that controls and synchronizes our quantum devices. As a new engineer, you’ll be expected to contribute across the team including on FPGA-based board design, board testing, and system level integration. You will work with other engineers and physicists to define field-tests, conduct experiments, and help to troubleshoot problems across a variety of opto-electrical devices.

Required Qualifications

  • B.Sc. degree in EE/CS or equivalent
  • Excellent communication skills and an ability to interact across different disciplines
  • Experience designing and programming FPGA circuits
  • Understanding of DSP and related concepts
  • Experience working with SPICE, Altium, Eagle, Solidworks, and Python scripting
  • Understanding of digital and analog circuits including DACs, ADCs, RF components, filters…
  • Experience working with standard lab equipment (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, vector network
    analyzers, etc.)
  • Willingness to learn new topics
  • Ability to multi-task and manage several aspects of the job simultaneously.

Desired Qualifications

  • M.Sc. in EE/CS

Quantum Engineer/Scientist

Job Description (full-time)

You will work to design the opto-atomic hardware that are used to store and manipulate photonic qubits without damaging the coherence of the state. As a new member of Qunnect, you’ll be expected to contribute across the team including on qubit generators, room-temperature quantum memories and system level integration.  You will work with other engineers and physicists to define tests and perform ground-breaking quantum experiments. You will also be leading engineers and graduate student interns in designing innovative quantum modules. As a part of your job, you will be expected to help expand our core technologies by developing new ideas and act as the main investigator on research grant proposals. Because of this interdisciplinary nature, good communication skills are paramount.

Required Qualifications

  • Ph.D. degree in Physics or equivalent, with at least 0-2 years of experience
  • Understanding of Bell-state measurements, entanglement sources, quantum networks, and related topics

  • Experience working with standard lab equipment

  • Excellent communication skills and an ability to interact across different disciplines

  • Leadership skills and ability to multi-task and manage several aspects of the job simultaneously

  • Willingness to learn and contribute wherever needed

Desired Qualifications

You will work with the team to design the opto-atomic hardware and develop software solutions/firmware for various devices in our quantum networks. You will be expected to continuously enhance our core technologies by integrating new software features and helping the hardware team to reach our product goals.
